About Our Cemetery
Our cemetery has been in existence for almost 300 years, and is home to almost 10,000 occupants throughout 16 sections and roughly 84 acres of property between US Route 202 in New Milford, CT, and Great Brook (sometimes referred to as "Butter" Brook). We have tried our best over the years to keep a database of every occupant, both in digital and written format, including a listing of all of our over 300 veterans.
Although we cannot verify when we were formally organized, we have records indicating burials that date to at least 1719, and chartering documents that date to at least 1839. Since then it has been our mission to provide a beautiful, peaceful place to rest those in our community who have passed.
Some of the more notable of our occupants include Elijah Boardman (Revolutionary War veteran and Senator), his son William (US Congressman), Congressman Orange Merwin, famed narrator Westbrook Van Voorhis, and Francis ''Hap'' Moran, who set numerous NFL records with the New York Giants.
We are a registered 501(c)(13) non-profit, and welcome all donations in person or mailed to PO Box 202, New Milford , CT 06776. For any questions, including burial and lot prices, please feel free to visit or call our office at 860-354-6174. As always, we thank you for visiting.
